iDOP methodology

In iDOP, all decisions are clearly documented through memorials and/or technical reports, ensuring traceability between the recommended decisions and the analyzes that support them.

Conceptualization

  • Risk-based engineering, supported by sophisticated computational techniques (eg, digital twins and machine learning), is the current basis for new product development, operation and production management;

  • Historically, strategic decisions are determined by risk analysis;

  • Recently, more and more operational and tactical decisions have been influenced and/or defined in terms of risk analysis;

  • The risk results from the composition of two factors:
    • Probability of occurrence of an unwanted effect;
    • Severity of the consequence(s) of this effect.

BPIE's Value Proposition

  • Through iDOP, BPIE offers its clients an engineering decision-making methodology based on risk analysis of their assets, considered individually and in their production/operational context;

  • iDOP is conceived in terms of two main quantities:
    • Reliability;
    • Remaining Lifetime (VUR).

  • The iDOP methodology consists of three steps:
    • Classification;
    • Toolkit;
    • Decision.

  • The iDOP steps are shown in the infographic below.
